ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Abbey J. Duplaga

After working for nearly 10 years in the field of public accounting and obtaining several professional credentials, Abbey was led by divine intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ to relinquish her accounting career in exchange for one that was of service to Him and more specifically in the realm of education for children within the next generation. Abbey hails from a large family and has been surrounded by children throughout her life. Through mentoring and showing her love by developing and teaching others, Abbey discovered her passion.

Children’s self-esteem, belief systems, and ideas of life are shaped by their environment, as well as arts, entertainment, and media consumed. There is a lot of destructive entertainment and media vying for the minds of children and Abbey aims to bring wholesome books with virtues and values to their lives. More specifically, Abbey feels it is important to introduce life skills and character development as soon as possible to build a foundation that will prepare children for the various stages of adolescence and adulthood. Abbey believes many of our adolescent and adult problems would be greatly reduced if we had developed a better foundation and identification of ourselves.

Abbey’s experience in business and the many life skills she has learned along the way are valuable and applicable to life for everyone. She wishes to share, in a relatable way, these skills through writing picture books that will capture the attention of and teach children character by creating a priceless foundation for their future progress and happiness. One of Abbey’s favorite quotes are from Maya Angelou which reads, “I would like to be known as an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a woman who teaches by being,” and Abbey’s endeavor encapsulates these words perfectly.

Abbey is a 2003 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a 2007 graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is also a certified public accountant (CPA), certified IT professional (CITP), certified fraud examiner (CFE), and a chartered global management accountant (CGMA). Abbey currently resides in Bridgeport, OH.
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR
Andrew Thomas
Andrew Thomas is an illustrator and animator specializing in children’s media. Based in Columbus, Ohio, Andrew currently works as an Art Director in commercial animation. His work can be seen in children's books, television animation, and commercials.
